ST. GEORGE DCC BLAZER

Blazer owned by W.J. Saunders, former St. George, N.S.W. player and Club President and Patron. 

The tag on the inside of the blazer informs us that the blazer did, in fact, belong to Mr. Saunders. Also on the tag is the date 17/9/52.

In 1958, at the age of 24, Saunders became the youngest captain in the club's history. Over the course of 14 years, Saunders led St George with intelligence and integrity to 8 Grand Finals and 5 Premierships including 3 in 3 consecutive seasons (1968-69, 1969-70, 1970-71). It is clear to see that Warren Saunders was an integral part of one of the most successful periods in St. George DCC's history.
