ST. GEORGE DCC A.W. GREEN SHIELD JOINT PREMIERS CAP 1955-56

This cap commemorates the joint premiership of the 1955-56 A.W. Green Shield season. 
You may recognise that this cap is blue instead of the traditional maroon colour. This is due to a manufacturing issue at the time where the St. George colours were out of stock. This resulted in the blue clothed caps for the seasons 1954-55 to 1956-57.

The blue caps proved unpopular with players and members and were abandoned once the traditional red and white venetian material was available again.
