This piece was specially commissioned by the St George District Cricket Club on the occasion of the opening of the Booth - Saunders Pavilion. It is placed beside a similar bat with a caricature of Warren Saunders.
Booth arrived at the club in 1952 and played until 1977. He scored 10,674 runs in First Grade at an average of 45.6 with a highest score of 208 not out. In First-class cricket Booth scored 11,265 runs at an average of 45.42 with a highest score of 214 not out. Booth played 29 tests for Australia and scored 1,773 runs at an average of 42.12 with a highest score of 169 against South Africa.
Booth would go on to become President of St. George DCC from 1972-1982 and is a current co-patron of the club alongside Warren Saunders.
